Prof. Dr. Eckart D. Stratenschulte

He has been the Director of the Academy since 1993; as such he is also the managing member of the executive board of the Academy's directing body, the Verein (association) known as "Europäische Akademie Berlin e.V."

He represents the Academy in external affairs with regard to the various association committees. In addition he is the Berlin representative of the European Academies' umbrella organisation in Germany, GEA.

In his capacity as director of the Academy, he is responsible for coordinating, directing in theoretical, educational and administrative respects all the various fields of the European Academy Berlin. In addition, he organises personally extra-ordinary events and his own seminars.

Furthermore, he is a guest lecturer for questions of European Integration at the Free University of Berlin's Institute for Political and Social Sciences.

Prof. Dr. Eckart D. Stratenschulte graduated from university after reading political sciences, German studies and sociology.
